Republic of Daghestan, a part of the Russian Federation, is located in the North Caucasus and the border is part of the South of Russia. It is bordered by land and the Caspian Sea to the five states – Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Iran. As the legend says, the castle was founded in the VII century, by the descendants of the Prophet Muhammad Quraish, who erected it at the top of rugged mountains, standing at the confluence of five rivers.
